Casale Alessandra

This lovely
property is situated in the Municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa in the
Province of Florence. It stands 18km from Florence, 5km from San Casciano and
800mt from the village of Montefiridolfi.
In the
Middle Ages, the estate belonged to the Buodelmonti family, wealthy Val di Pesa
landowners. In 1427, Andrea Buondelmonti gave or donated his properties to
Lorenzo de’ Medici. From that time onwards, the Medici family began to
cultivate vineyards and olive groves which continued over the centuries up till
their vast development in modern times.
The
property stands in the geographical area of Chianti Classico and is part of the
“Gallo Nero” consortium. The famopus Ugolino Golf Club is 7 km away, and there
are several horse riding schools and facilities in the area.
Its 7
hectares are cultivated as specialized olive groves with more than 900 olive
trees registered and classified as DOP oil products. At 350 mt above sea level,
it doesn’t suffer from fog or hoar frost; and the gently sloping hills have
excellent drainage qualities. The climate is exceptional all the year round.
It stands
in a hilly and dominant position, enjoying a superb panoramic view over the valley, surrounded by vineyards, woodland
and fields perfect for horse riding. Olive groves, cypress trees and juniper
fields complete the landscape, which reaches the Via Cassia down below.
